Meet Your Instructor
Hey Friend! If you're new and don't know who I am then let me introduce myself. I'm Dr. Desiree Strickland ("Dr.Des") and I'm a career strategist and a senior level public health professional. Throughout my career I've always taken countless interns and guided many students through the post grad journey. One thing that stood out to me was the lack of preparedness among black students. When it came to networking and really selling yourself to an organization as to why they should be employed, they often fell short. After helping interns and other students successfully enter the work force I decided that everyone should know the steps to landing their desired job!
When I first started applying to jobs I would often times not get an interview or I would completely bomb the interview and leave feeling frustrated. After my failed attempt at landing a job in my field I decided to do what I do best....RESEARCH..! I studied everything from networking to resume enhancements and cover letter etiquette. I went from having no interviews to having 3 in one week, and another I had to turn down the next week because I secured the job I wanted.
I want to teach you what I did and help you land the career you want!
